At first glance, the REV seat seems to be far away from the horse due to its two levels. However, as soon as the rider sits in the saddle, the tree closes and the rider gets close enough to the horse so that aids are accepted normally by the horse.
According to the current LPO equipment catalogue, the REV saddle can be used in the disciplines dressage, jumping and eventing without restrictions in competition sport.
The panels of the REV saddle are filled with natural wool. This has the advantage that it is breathable and can ideally absorb the horse's sweat. In addition, easy adjustments can be made via a simple re-padding or re-flocking process.
We recommend that you do not adjust the spring action during the test ride and the first period of use, so that you and your horse can slowly get used to the new riding experience. After a certain time, you can gradually increase the spring action depending on the area of use and thus find your optimal setting for you and your horse. For most raiders the factory setting is preferred but a large spring action is preferred by some for long trekking rides.
First, the seat cover must be removed from the saddle tree via the push buttons. In order to adjust the spring action of the REV saddle, a H4 size Allen key is required. This allows for easy extension or reduction of the spring travel at the rear of the saddle tree. When adjusting the suspension travel, the rider must be seated in the saddle to create the least amount of resistance and relieve the suspension pressure.
Yes, the REV saddle is suitable for horses with a short back. Through the panel elements of the tree there is a large contact surface and an element of flexibility from head to tail, whereby it becomes more flexible closer to the tail. Here the saddle tree flexes on the horse's back, relieving pressure particularly in the last quarter. Even if visually the saddle encroaches past the last rib of a short backed horse it does not restrict its natural movements and dramatically relieves pressure in the area.
In the standard version, the REV has a medium chamber width (medium wide). The large contact surface allows the saddle to distribute pressure evenly and makes it compatible for many different horse backs. Thanks to the two different chamber width wedges (wide and narrow), the place width can also be adjusted to an extremely high and flat withers.
The REV saddle is available with a 17.5 inch seat. Compared to standard saddles, the seat size of the REV is not equally decisive for the rider's centre of gravity and pressure distribution. The saddle tree distributes the rider's weight evenly over a large contact surface on the horse's back.
The REV saddle flaps can be replaced in just a few simple steps. When changing the saddle flaps, make sure that the push buttons are hooked in before pressing them tight to guarantee a firm and secure hold.
Each REV saddle flap has a flap guide on the inside, which fixes the saddle flap and ensures the optimum girth position. The girth guide is only used with the front girthing billet.
The delivery time of the REV saddle can currently take up to 4 months.
The tree is made from a highly durable thermoplastic composite. It has been scientifically tested for durability and promises excellent longevity.
The saddle has a broad fit range and the head angle can further be adjusted using a chamber width wedge. See chamber width section above. Saddle panel customisations and flocking are also available. While the saddle does not fit all horses it is widely recognised as having a much broader range of fit that any one traditional saddle, without the need for modification.
